British GENES (British Genealogy News and Events): WDYTYA Live ...

The workshop timetable for the forthcoming Who Do You Think You Are? Live?2013 show is now online at www.whodoyouthinkyouarelive.com/workshop-schedule.

There's the usual fare of topics from across the UK and beyond, including two talks from yours truly, Discover Scottish Marriages on Friday 22nd February at 2.30 in the SoG Regional Theatre, and Irish Family History Online on Saturday 23rd February at 5pm in the Celebrity Theatre / S.O.G. Studio 1.

Amongst other speakers are a former employer of mine, Alastair Moffat (How DNA is Rewriting British History), a current employer, Graham Holton (British Empire Sources for Family History), and a fair few others from Scotland such as Tahitia McCabe, Pat Whately, Dee Williams, Tristram McCabe, Bruce Durie and Bruce Bishop. In addition for Ireland there are further talks from Brian Donovan (FindmyPast Ireland), Helen Kelly, Rosalind McCutcheon, Maggie Loughran - and if fortune favours the bold, my new book Tracing Your Irish Family History on the Internet from Pen and Sword should also be ready in time for the event (if you knew how many stops were being pulled out to get it ready in time you'd be amazed! lol). ?From home turf in England and Wales there are talks from the first lady of genealogy at the SoG, Else Churchill, along with John Hanson (SoG), Sharon Hintze (FamilySearch), Celia Heritage, Jackie Depelle and many, many more, including several overseas guests.

Finally, just to confirm also that tickets are now on sale for the event at www2.seetickets.com/whodoyouthinkyouare.

UPDATE: Sorry, on the talks, the site's ticket info:

Tickets are free to collect on the day from the Workshop Ticket Desk, located in the upstairs gallery. Alternatively, you can guarantee your seat by buying your ticket in advance at a cost of ?2 when booking your ticket to the show. Please note, all workshops are subject to capacity.

When I did the Irish talk last year the theatre was filled to capacity (250), so may be worth purchasing in advance for talks you are interested in!
